House fire at Riverton - 24 June 2026

This evening around 6pm, CFS volunteer firefighters responded to a house fire at Riverton, near Kapunda in the state’s Mid North.

Around 20 firefighters on 4 trucks responded to Triple Zero (000) calls reporting a fire in a lean-to at the rear of the home.

Thanks to their skilled response, firefighters in breathing apparatus quickly extinguished the fire before it could spread further into the house.

Thankfully, occupants were not home at the time of the fire.

Using thermal imaging cameras, crews ensured no hotspots were present and the fire was completely extinguished.

Damages are estimated around $100,000 and Fire Cause Investigators will attend.
