Structure fire at Owen - 17 June 2026

This morning, 35 CFS volunteer firefighters attended a house fire in Owen, north of Gawler.
Crews on 6 trucks with 2 support vehicles were called to the single-story home around 8am.
On arrival, the home was fully involved in fire and the roof had started to collapse.
Thankfully, the occupants of the home were able to evacuate and were assessed by SA Ambulance for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus successfully saved a shed and several vehicles in close proximity to the house.
Unfortunately, the home was destroyed with damages estimated at $500,000.
Crews will remain on scene this morning to mop up and monitor for hotspots.
SA Police and SA Power Networks also provided support on scene and Fire Investigators will attend.
