Tractor fire at Freeling - 31 January 2024

Just after 2:30 pm today, crews were called to a small grass fire on Kurtzer Road, Freeling.

CFS volunteer firefighters responded to the scene with 3 trucks and 1 bulk water carrier. SA Police also attended the scene. Upon arrival, crews were met by 12 farm firefighting units.

Crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading. The CFS wishes to acknowledge the quick efforts of the farm firefighting units involved in this incident.

The fire, caused by farm machinery, burned a small amount of stubble crop and destroyed a header. Total losses are estimated at around $180,000.
